Elizabeth Cox, M.Ed, Clinical Director, owner
Elizabeth has over 30 years experience in the fields of mental health and special education. She has a BA in psychology from University of Kentucky, an MEd in counseling from Xavier University and post graduate certification in diagnosis and assessment. She has post graduate work in special education, behavior analysis and dyslexia. Elizabeth worked for Cincinnati Children's hospital for nearly 20 years and was their first clinical behavioral specialist. She currently sees clients in Kentucky and Ohio from age 3-25. Elizabeth specializes in complex cases, particularly with a medical background. She uses a holistic approach and focuses on the gifts each family brings. She believes that each student she works with is fearfully and wonderfully made and uses a positive framework to help children be who they were designed to be. In her free time, she is a professor in Educational Psychology and Behavior Management at Thomas More University and is pursuing certification in equine assisted learning/therapy. Her best role though is mom to two grown up sons in college/law school and one homeschooling high school daughter.
Andrea Hansen, speech therapist supervisor
Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in the area of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Cincinnati. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in her undergraduate program. She has furthered her education with Picture Exchange Communication (PECs) training and Hanen certification. Currently, she is in the process of earning a certificate as a Clinical Autism Specialist. Andrea is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence. She has experience working with a variety of speech and language disorders, including apraxia, fluency, language, articulation, autism, selective mutism, late talkers, pragmatics, and augmentative and alternative communication devices. Andrea worked in private practice and in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She has also worked in the complex needs and autism classrooms at local school districts, where she worked with students from PK-12 as well as with young adults. Her passion lies in helping children find their voices.
Rebecca Scheerer, intervention specialist supervisor
For more than ten years, Rebecca has worked as an Intervention Specialist within the public school system in a variety of settings, such as inclusion and co-teaching models, and in a specialized classroom for students with Autism and Behavioral Disabilities. She has held leadership positions as Case Coordinator and a member of the Instructional Leadership Team. She recently developed a district-wide Intervention guide as supplemental support for the K-6 English Language Arts curriculum for her district. Prior to that, she held positions in Public Relations and Marketing Communication as an Account Executive and project manager. She earned her Master of Education and Teaching License through Xavier University; completed LETRS reading training; and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Anderson University in Indiana. She is currently working towards her second Masters in Curriculum and Instruction through Miami University (Ohio). She has held positions in the Family Advisory Council for the Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and at the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati as a Board Member and Governance Committee. She resides in Cincinnati with her husband Josh, and three children, including a child with Down syndrome.
